The Stigma Free Initiative (S.F.I.) is a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and creating a culture where individuals feel supported by their community to seek treatment for mental health without fear of judgment. Through education and community-driven events, S.F.I. fosters an environment of wellness and recovery focused on crushing the stigma.

About Us

How We started

Mosh For Mental Health hosted local metal shows in 2018 and 2019 benefiting Southern Arizona mental health nonprofits before pausing due to COVID. The event returned in January 2026, followed by official nonprofit status in February under the name Stigma Free Initiative, which will now host MFMH annually along side other community-driven events.

OUR MISSION

To reduce mental health stigma and promote community wellness by providing accessible educational resources through the creative mediums of music, comedy, and visual arts.

OUR VISION

To transform the conversation around mental health in Southern Arizona, leveraging the power of live performance and artistic expression to eliminate the barriers that prevent individuals from seeking care.

OUR VALUES

Creativity: Believing that art, music, and laughter are the loudest ways to break the silence.

Authenticity: Using raw, real-world platforms (like metal shows and comedy clubs) instead of just clinical offices.

Diversity: Embracing all identities and experiences using the stage as a space for expression, visibility, and collective healing.

Accessibility: Making mental health resources part of the community’s social life, not just a separate "appointment."
